Our locations
Ferring Pharmaceuticals is headquartered in Switzerland, with locations worldwide. These include:
- 13 manufacturing facilities
- 12 R&D centers
- Major operations in 11 countries, including the US
Our main research center for drug discovery is Ferring Research Institute (FRI) in San Diego. Our colleagues there work in close collaboration with our scientists at two further research hubs in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Be’er Tuvia, Israel.
Ferring’s innovation engine: FRI in San Diego
FRI is our key research center for early research and development. Here, our scientists work on small molecule and peptide drug discovery, from new target identification up until early drug development phases.
The site also houses scientists focusing on applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to identify novel targets, discovery chemists, and biologists.
It’s one of our main research and development sites. It houses our bioanalysis, discovery biotherapeutics and immunology laboratories.
Here we focus on innovation, ideas generation and screening of novel antibodies. It serves, too, as the center of excellence for immunology science throughout Ferring.
Our early clinical development teams, including clinical pharmacology and pharmacokinetics are based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Bio-Technology General Israel
At Bio-Technology General (BTG), our research hub in Israel, our scientists focus on biotechnology techniques that are utilized to generate engineered biological molecules, microorganisms and cells.
BTG is a Ferring company that focuses on harnessing the power of biotechnology to build better, safer and essential biologics to improve patients’ lives.
